Eyebrow DO’s and DONT’S
Advice for our clients…
DON’T try tinting your own eyebrows. Opt for a professional eyebrow tint. Sure, you can find plenty of DIY kits out there, but if there’s one place you don’t want to take a risk, it’s your eyebrows. With so much at stake, it’s best to leave it in the capable hands of an experienced brow technician.
DO be clear about the kind of look you’re going for. Maybe you prefer a deep, bold colour over a softer, more natural shade. Talk it over with your brow technician so they can conduct a perfect tint.
DO arrive at your appointment with clean eyebrows. Remove any traces of shadow, pencil or powder, and make sure there’s no oily residue from creams, facials or other treatments. Clean brows will ensure the tint can absorb and develop properly.
DO try to avoid applying oil based products directly on your eyebrows or using harsh face washes that will lighten the tint more quickly after your treatment.
DON’T go in the sun or swimming after an eyebrow tinting. Just like hair dye, the quality of your tint can be affected by sun exposure, salt water and chlorine, so avoid these areas if you want to preserve your tint.
DO embrace your natural arch shape. Everyone’s eyebrows have their own arch just go with it! A good brow technician can help identify where your brows naturally peak and enhance the shape to bring out their best features.
DO invest in a good brow gel. Once your eyebrow technician has your brows looking on point, keep the look going everyday by setting the brow shape with a gel. Keep in mind that a little goes a long way.
DON’T worry if your eyebrows don’t match perfectly. There’s a popular mantra among brow technicians: think of your eyebrows as sisters, not twins. An anxious quest for exact lookalikes may lead you to over-plucking, over-shaping or other eyebrow crimes. Trust us, THAT’S the kind of thing people will notice!
DON’T get your eyebrows done right before an event. Just as your skin needs time to recover after a facial, your eyebrows may be red, puffy and sensitive for up to a day afterwards. Avoid unnecessary irritation by booking your wax a day or two ahead of any big events.
You're welcome!
